Looking back at some of my favorite DC Comics from the past. I always enjoyed this ‘world’s greatest detective’ take on Batman. Denny O’Neil and Neil Adams’ revitalized one of comics’ greatest icons — and on every page in their run, you can see it.

Like the Joker? You indirectly have this story to thank for it. In 1973, ”The Joker’s Five Way Revenge” returns the Clown Prince of Crime to his roots as a homicidal maniac who murders people on a whim. Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams crafted a fantastic story that not only gave the Joker an edge, but also re-affirmed Batman as one of comics’ greatest detectives!

A HIGH MOON / BATMAN piece that Steve Ellis developed for San Diego Comic Con 2008. The character on the left is Conroy Macgregor from HIGH MOON, while that specific image of Batman was loosely inspired by GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT.

Early last year, Steve Ellis and I thought it would be fun to write up and develop a Catwoman digital short in the style and format of our digital comic series BOX 13. The idea was to use the tricks, techniques, and technology of the mobile device to tell new kinds of stories. The piece above is a promo shot we used for the pitch we entitled CATWOMAN: STEAL EVERYTHING!
